Overview

Samir Patel is an attorney in Holland & Knight's Miami office and a member of the Innovation Practice Group. Mr. Patel's practice spans commercial real estate development and finance, capital raising under federal securities laws, technology and infrastructure agreements, digital asset and blockchain matters, the commercial representation of sports entities and athletes, and regulatory counsel to gaming operators.

Within the Innovation Practice Group, Mr. Patel builds artificial intelligence (AI) applications for Holland & Knight's highest-priority transactional and litigation matters. His work runs from the model layer to the finished application, including post-training and customization of foundation models, evaluation frameworks that benchmark competing models against the same legal task, integrations connecting models to firm and client data systems, and agentic workflows that retrieve, reason over and draft from enterprise documents. This includes document automation to generate litigation and transaction documents.

In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Patel is an adjunct professor at his alma mater, teaching an upper-level class called New Technologies and the Law. In 2026, he was appointed by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Florida to the Florida Courts Technology Commission, and his commentary has appeared in Bloomberg Law, Law360 and ESPN.
